Tour de Jefferson

Jefferson Transit (JeT) was proud to participate in the 1st annual Tour de Jefferson held on Saturday, November 10th at Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego.  Coordinated by the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, the 38-mile biking event was staged to promote Jefferson Parish as a bike-friendly community.

JeT’s bike-friendly bus received an enthusiastic welcome from Tour de Jefferson attendees, many of whom received free training and permits to use the bike racks located on all JeT buses.  JeT personnel also distributed schedule booklets highlighting the many destinations served by JeT including bike routes and paths, parks, shopping centers, schools, the airport and downtown New Orleans. 

The event is scheduled to alternate annually between the West and East banks.
